The dining experience at The People's Cafe is enhanced by its proximity to a live music stage, creating an atmosphere that feels alive and spirited. On the menu, you’ll find a range of dishes that reflect the rich culinary landscape of Indonesia. Critics have noted variability in the food quality, with some dishes standing out while others have missed the mark. For instance, the nasi goreng gila has been described as overly greasy by some patrons, while the soto Betawi has drawn remarks for being overly sweet. Nonetheless, the essence of local meals is present, with many customers highlighting the rich flavors that make Indonesian cuisine so beloved.
From the delightful caramel macchiato—praised for its exceptional taste—to hearty options that cater to different palates, the cafe has its culinary strengths. Positive feedback encapsulated the essence of good food and ambiance, with diners like Cindy Aretha expressing their fondness for both the food and the warm environment.
Service, on the other hand, has received mixed reviews. While visitors have commended prompt responses and a reasonable waiting time, others have expressed frustration with delays during peak hours. Nevertheless, the staff's willingness to accommodate special requests, such as switching dishes for spiciness preference, underscores the commitment to customer satisfaction.
In summary, The People's Cafe - Summarecon Mall Bandung stands out for its vibrant atmosphere and a menu that reflects the heart of Indonesia. Despite some inconsistencies, the combination of good food, friendly service, and a lively backdrop make it a place worth visiting, whether for a casual meal or a friendly gathering.

“ First time my husband and I visit the people's cafe in Summarecon Bandung. We mostly went the one at Pondok Indah Mall 1. The food was okay. My husband really enjoyed the pisang goreng. My Soto mie was a bit "tasteless" I needed to put more / extra salt. And for the price , probably could give more a bit. Why I needed to pay extra for the Risol on the Soto mie ? Soto mie is always with Risol. The Siomay also not bad. Nothing special but it was okay. Also extra pay if you want to put egg. Why? The coffee was so delicious , because it came from Djournal coffee. Also one of our fav coffee place in South Jakarta. Thumbs up for the delish coffee ! ( sorry, I forgot to take picture of the coffee ) The workers was nice , kind and friendly. They also speaks English But , we will come back again for sure to try other food. Thank you. ”
“ Food: l ordered nasi goreng gila and the taste was overly greasy, soto betawi and the taste was overly sweet. It seems the kitchen team is overwhlemed with many orders on sat night. However, the standard quality is different with the one at PVJ. Service : prompt response and waiting time for the food to be ready is about 15 mins even on sat night. Atmosphere : Since the restaurant is next to the live music stage, we couldn't chat comfortably. However, the tables with sofas provided are quite comfortable for customers who bring children to sit while waiting for the food to arrive. ”
“ Order using QR code on your phone. Ask the waiter if the fried rice was spicy, and he said just write no spicy if you don’t want it to be spicy. Turns out they only provide the spicy one for that menu. After complaining, they changed it to other menu which can be requested to no spicy. Good service, but waiting for a looonngg time to eat. Fried rice is delicious. ”
